On 14th May, 2015, GJF delegates led by Chairman-GJF, Mr. Manish Jain,
along with me and few Board members, met Hon’ble Finance Minister, with regard
to Pan Card issue (the
Government’s announcement on the applicability of the Pan Card on Jewellery purchases of Rs. 1 lakh and over). The Finance Minister gave a patient hearing on the
various issues faced by the industry. The meeting took place in a
cordial atmosphere, wherein The Hon’ble Finance Minister spent almost 27
minutes with the GJF delegates. The outcome of the meeting was quite
encouraging and positive. We should be receiving a positive response
from him with regard to Pan Card limit.
